The Pittsburgh Penguins will try to strike back in Game 2 of their series against the Philadelphia Flyers.
The Pittsburgh Penguins will look to tie up their first-round series against the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday night.
The Penguins weren't sharp in Game 1 on Saturday, losing 3-2, and are down 1-0 in the best-of-seven series. They couldn't create many high-quality scoring chances and were frustrated by the Flyers' neutral-zone trap.
It's now on head coach Dan Muse and the players to adjust to it, and they'll have a chance to do that in this second game.
Aside from the Penguins' 5v5 struggles, the power play also needs to be a lot better. Both units had multiple opportunities in Game 1, but didn't come close to scoring. Heck, they struggled to even gain the zone since the Flyers were doing a great job of clogging everything up.
I know some fans will be hoping Muse makes changes to the lines for Game 2, but that doesn't appear to be in the cards. Things can change if the Penguins start trailing or lose, but he's set to run it back.
Here's a look at the Penguins' projected lineup:
Forwards
Chinakhov-Crosby-Rust
Novak-Rakell-Malkin
Soderblom-Kindel-Mantha
Dewar-Lizotte-Acciari
Defensive pairs
Wotherspoon-Karlsson
Girard-Letang
Shea-Clifton
Muse confirmed after Monday morning's skate that Stuart Skinner will start Game 2. He was excellent in Game 1 and was the biggest reason the Penguins had a chance to tie the game late in the third period.
Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. ET on SportsNet Pittsburgh and ESPN. Fans can also listen to the game on 105.9 'The X.'
