The Pittsburgh Penguins will try to snap their two-game losing streak on Friday night.
The Pittsburgh Penguins will conclude their two-game road trip against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday night.
The Penguins lost their first game of the trip to the Washington Capitals on Wednesday night and have now lost two in a row, so they're looking to get back in the win column.
They will face a Blue Jackets team that hasn't played since last Saturday, when they lost 4-1 to the Utah Mammoth. They are 1-1-0 through two games.
The Penguins won't have to see Kirill Marchenko since he was dealt to the Toronto Maple Leafs, but they will still have to see star defenseman Zach Werenski and forward Adam Fantilli.
Don't forget about Matthew Knies, either. He was central to the return in the Marchenko trade and already has two goals and four points in two games.
If the Penguins want to win this game, they'll need to stop making JV-level mistakes in their own end and actually start on time. They've had two slow starts in a row and haven't managed the puck well.
In light of these issues, head coach Dan Muse tweaked the lines during Friday's morning skate. Here are the expected lines and pairs:
Forwards
Rakell-Crosby-Rust
Chinakhov-Novak-Malkin
Lapierre-Kindel-Koivunen
Dewar-Lizotte-Robertson
Defensive pairs
Carlile-Karlsson
Girard-Korczak
van Riemsdyk-Letang
Sergei Murashov was the first goaltender off the ice and will start in this game.
Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. ET on SportsNet Pittsburgh. You can also listen to the game on 105.9 'The X.'
