The Pittsburgh Penguins will try to end this four-game trip on a high note.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have been going through it on this four-game road trip.
They lost the first three games of the trip (all in regulation) and weren't competitive in their most recent game, a 6-2 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights. The game was virtually over after the first 10 minutes of the first period.
The Penguins will try to stop the bleeding and end the trip on a high note when they visit the Utah Mammoth on Monday night. The Mammoth are 6-3-0 and have won three of their last four games.
This is a Mammoth team that can run four lines at you and has three deep defensive pairs. Forward Nick Schmaltz has been great to start the year, compiling six goals and 11 points in nine games.
Clayton Keller has also been great, racking up three goals and 11 points to start the year. Don't forget about Dylan Guenther, either. He doesn't get talked about enough and is already off to a great start with four goals and nine points in nine games.
Mikhail Sergachev has been their best defenseman in all three zones and does it all. Goaltending-wise, Karel Vejmelka is their starter and has an .879 save percentage with a 2.89 goals-against average.
The Penguins might be making some lineup changes for this game since the lines were put in a blender during the morning skate. They also might get Egor Chinakhov back after he was a full participant during the skate.
Hendrix Lapierre, Ilya Solovyov, and Elmer Soderblom were the last three skaters on the ice during the skate, which is a sign that they'll be scratched.
Arturs Silovs will start in goal after having the night off on Saturday.
Puck drop is set for 9 p.m. ET on SportsNet Pittsburgh. You can also listen to the game on 105.9 'The X.'
