Anthony Mantha should be a popular target if he hits the free agent market.

Anthony Mantha remains without a contract extension with the start of free agency being less than a week away. The 31-year-old forward will be an incredibly popular UFA target if he does not re-sign with the Pittsburgh Penguins, as the free agent market is only getting slimmer. It also doesn't hurt that he had 33 goals and 64 points this season.

Because of this, let's look at three teams that could sign Mantha in free agency.

Detroit Red Wings

Could the Red Wings reunite with Mantha? They need more offense, and they also have a notable pending UFA winger in Patrick Kane who they will need to replace if he walks. Because of this, it would be understandable if the Red Wings targeted Mantha in free agency this summer as they look to snap their decade-long playoff drought next season.

Los Angeles Kings

The Kings could use more scoring, so they could be another team to watch when it comes to Mantha this off-season. If they signed him, he could fit nicely in their top six and would give them another valuable player to work with on their power play.

Columbus Blue Jackets

If the Blue Jackets are unable to re-sign Mason Marchment, it would make sense if they pivoted to Mantha. Like Marchment, Mantha is a big winger who can produce strong offense. Because of this, there could be a good match here between Columbus and Mantha.
