Ducks Coach Fined for Conduct Against Penguins

Greg Cronin was not happy with a goalie interference call going in the Pittsburgh Penguins favor

Pittsburgh Penguins' defenseman Erik Karlsson says he will try out wearing a neck guard after tragic accident to Adam Johnson.

Before the Pittsburgh Penguins lost their contest to the Anaheim Ducks in heartbreaking fashion, Ducks head coach Greg Cronin was ejected from the contest.

Cronin was furious over a goalie interference call in the second period that landed in the Penguins favor; initially, he was given a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct.

As the teams returned for the third period, Cronin was not on the bench and it was announced that he was ejected from the game.

After a few days, the NHL announced that they had fined Cronin for his conduct during the game.

According to the NHL, the fine carries a $25,000 price tag and defined it as unprofessional conduct towards officials.

Following the game, Cronin said he didn’t agree with the call on the ice and thought Erik Karlsson was the player interfering with Tristan Jarry rather than the Ducks player.

The goal was waived off immediately after it was scored and Cronin decided to challenge the call.

After a quick review, the officials decided there was no goalie interference, which is when he lost his temper towards officials.

Without their head coach behind the bench, the Ducks went on to beat the Penguins 4-3.
