The Pittsburgh Penguins lineup against the New York Rangers has some interesting changes.

Pittsburgh Penguins' defenseman Erik Karlsson discusses his growing chemistry with Sidney Crosby in their first season together.

After a slew of injuries to key players, the Pittsburgh Penguins were forced to make a multitude of lineup changes for their match against the New York Rangers.

For their annual Thanksgiving Eve contest, the Penguins will hit the ice with a season debut and the return of multiple faces.

Jake Guentzel – Sidney Crosby – Drew O’Connor
Reilly Smith – Evgeni Malkin – Alex Nylander
Radim Zohorna – Lars Eller – Vinnie Hinostroza
Matt Nieto – Noel Acciari – Jeff Carter

Ryan Graves – Kris Letang
Marcus Pettersson – Erik Karlsson
Ryan Shea – John Ludvig

Tristan Jarry in as starting goalie; Jansen Harkins and Dmitri Samorukov are the healthy scratches.

With Bryan Rust out day-to-day, Ricakrd Rakell out long-term, Chad Ruhwedel out week-to-week, and P.O. Joseph on injured reserve, the Penguins had no choice to but to make certain decisions.

Hinostroza started training camp playing alongside Crosby, but will stay within the bottom six on the third line with Zohorna swapping wings.

In a real surprise, O’Connor is slotting in beside Crosby and Guentzel on the first line.

Nylander had success with Malkin in 2022-23 and could be a real spark of offense for a second line that has struggled to produce for a few games.

Ludvig returns to the lineup for his second ever NHL game after suffering a concussion in his debut.
