The Pittsburgh Penguins will host their Hockey Fights Cancer night on November 16.

For the 25th season, teams across the NHL will carry out league’s Hockey Fights Cancer initiative throughout the month of November, and the Pittsburgh Penguins will host their night on November 16.

The Penguins take on the New Jersey Devils for the first time in the 2023-24 season on that date.

Teams across the league will host their own nights, as well, with dates spanning from October 30 to December 12.

November 16 is one of two days that feature five Hockey Fights Cancer nights; the other is November 28.

According to the NHL, the game will feature special ceremonies and fundraising efforts for local charities.

In a release from the NHL, commissioner Gary Bettman stated:

“Hockey Fights Cancer has united the National Hockey League family for a quarter-century,” NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said. “Twenty-five years since its inception, Hockey Fights Cancer remains essential because the battle hasn’t ended -- rather, it continues to change and evolve. And the efforts of the NHL and NHLPA change and evolve with it.”

Due to the recent decisions by the NHL, there will not be specialty jerseys worn during warm ups for the game.

Teams like the Penguins will have to find other ways to commemorate and and celebrate the initiative.
