Tough news for the former Penguins blueliner.

Former Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Parker Wotherspoon is going to be missing a decent amount of time.

The Vegas Golden Knights have announced that Wotherspoon has suffered an upper-body injury and will be out week-to-week.

This is certainly a tough blow for Wotherspoon, as he is still in the very early stages of his tenure with the Golden Knights. Yet, his season will now be put on pause with this unfortunate injury news.

The Penguins traded Wotherspoon to the Golden Knights during the off-season in exchange for blueliner Kaeden Korczak. The move was a bit surprising at the time, as Wotherspoon just had a career year with the Penguins in 2025-26. However, the Penguins decided to sell high on Wotherspoon and bring in a promising young blueliner in Korczak.

Overall, he was very good during his lone season in Pittsburgh. Here's to hoping he has a speedy recovery and can return to Vegas' lineup sooner than expected.
