Tough news for the former Penguins forward.
A former Pittsburgh Penguins forward is going to miss a good amount of time.
The Seattle Kraken have announced that former Penguins forward Jared McCann will be out for the next 10 weeks due to a lower-body injury.
With this news, McCann is not expected to return to the Kraken's lineup until early January. When noting that the former Penguins forward is a very important part of the Kraken's roster, it is certainly bad news for them that he is going to be out long term. This is especially so when noting that they are aiming to maintain their strong start to the season.
In 11 games this season for the Kraken, McCann has posted three goals, eight points, and a plus-5 rating. This is after he recorded 20 goals and 40 points in 52 games during the 2025-26 season with Seattle.
McCann spent three seasons with the Penguins from 2018-19 to 2020-21. In 141 games with Pittsburgh over that span, he posted 39 goals, 45 assists, and 84 points.
