A former Pittsburgh Penguins forward is calling it a career.
Former Penguins forward Jean-Sebastien Dea announced through his personal Instagram account that he has officially retired.
Dea calling it a career comes after he spent the 2025-26 season split between the KHL and the German DEL. In 16 games with Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk of the KHL last season, he recorded one goal and three points. In 26 games with Eisbären Berlin this past season, he posted two goals, four assists, and six points.
Dea kicked off his professional career with the Penguins organization. He spent the majority of his time with the organization down in the AHL with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, as he played six seasons with them.
In nine NHL games with Pittsburgh over three seasons from 2016-17 to 2018-19, Dea posted two goals, 14 hits, and a plus-2 rating. Dea also made appearances with the New Jersey Devils, Buffalo Sabres, and Arizona Coyotes during his NHL career.
