A former Pittsburgh Penguins forward is officially available for the taking.
The Buffalo Sabres have placed former Penguins forward Conor Sheary on waivers, as reported by PuckPedia.
Sheary reunited with the Sabres this off-season by signing a one-year, $850,000 contract with the Atlantic Division club in free agency. Now, before the Sabres can send him down to the Rochester Americans of the AHL, he must clear waivers.
Sheary spent last season with the New York Rangers, where he recorded seven goals, 11 assists, 18 points, and a plus-1 rating in 62 games. This was after he had zero points in five games for the Tampa Bay Lightning during the 2024-25 campaign.
Sheary spent four seasons over two stints with the Penguins, where he recorded 49 goals, 48 assists, 97 points, and a plus-24 rating in 192 games. This included him having the best season of his NHL career as a Penguin in 2016-17, where he set career highs with 23 goals, 30 assists, and 53 points in 61 games.
It will now be interesting to see if another team claims the former Penguins forward off of waivers from here.
