Jeff Carter is absent from Pittsburgh Penguins warmups, and Vinnie Hinostroza has slotted back in.
As the Pittsburgh Penguins take to the ice for warm ups against the Buffalo Sabres, Jeff Carter is the sole player absent.
Carter was healthy scratched for the first time in his 19-year career while the Penguins were in California, but he slotted back in against the Los Angeles Kings.
In Carter’s absence, recent arrival to the organization Vinnie Hinostroza took his place.
That will be the same situation as the Penguins are back home against the Buffalo Sabres.
Hinostroza is labeled on the Penguins fourth line alongside Noel Acciari and Matt Nieto.
It is unclear why Carter was not on the ice for warmups considering he took part in the full-team morning skate, and healthy scratches normally skate with the team in warmups.
After the skate, Hinostroza was recalled from the AHL roster.
The Penguins look to continue their three-game winning streak by starting off on the right foot as they return home.
The complete Penguins starting lineup is as follows:
Jake Gunetzel – Sidney Crosby – Bryan Rust
Reilly Smith – Evgeni Malkin – Rickard Rakell
Drew O’Connor – Lars Eller – Radim Zohorna
Matt Nieto – Noel Acciari – Vinnie Hinostroza
Ryan Graves – Kris Letang
Marcus Pettersson – Erik Karlsson
Ryan Shea – Chad Ruhwedel
Tristan Jarry starting in goal.
