The Pittsburgh Penguins have adjusted their roster before returning to home ice.
Ahead of their return to home ice, the Pittsburgh Penguins have made a roster swap to accommodate for a returning Tristan Jarry.
The Penguins have re-assigned goalie Joel Blomqvist to the AHL, while recalling forward Vinnie Hinostroza.
Blomqvist was recalled to the NHL to hold backup duties in Los Angeles while Jarry missed the game with swelling in his eye.
Hinostroza coming back to the NHL roster puts questions marks back around Jeff Carter and his role in the lineup.
Carter was replaced by Hinostroza for a pair of games during the California road trip; Hinostroza has a goal and an assist in two games.
Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan stated that Jarry will start against the Buffalo Sabres, after only missing one game with his injury.
Blomqvist was recalled because if he needed to step in, he’s looked really good in his first full season on North American ice.
In seven games at the AHL level, Blomqvist has a 4-2-0 record with a .920 save percentage.
