Multiple Penguins Being Evaluated for Injuries

The Pittsburgh Penguins might be without Kris Letang and Noel Acciari due to injuries.

Pittsburgh Penguins third defense pairing on the ice for four goals against the Detroit Red Wings.

After a crushing defeat to the Detroit Red Wings, the Pittsburgh Penguins might be trekking on for a time without a pair of key players.

Defenseman Kris Letang and forward Noel Acciairi missed practice following the loss and Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan stated they are both being evaluated for injuries.

Sullivan said that Letang is being evaluated for a lower-body injury and Acciari for an upper-body injury.

Letang took a spill into the boards against the Red Wings and could be a cause for the injury.

Sullivan didn’t have any more information to give other than Letang and Acciari are being evaluated.

The Penguins have one more practice before heading to St. Louis to take on the Blues.

Ryan Shea played in Letang’s spot during practice, and defenseman Will Butcher filled in on the fourth forward line for Acciari.

Jeff Carter moved to center for the fourth line.
