The death of former Pittsburgh Penguins forward Adam Johnson continues to be investigated.
PITTSBURGH – The investigation into the death of former Pittsburgh Penguins forward Adam Johnson continues in the United Kingdom. A man arrested on suspicion of manslaughter has been re-bailed until late June.
A man was initially arrested in November and bailed until May 14. Now, the suspect is being re-bailed until June 26.
The coroner investigating Johnson’s death suspended her investigation in January and won't resume until July 26. The South Yorkshire Police have had an ongoing investigation. If the police determine a man should not be charged, the coroner will resume her investigation.
According to the South Yorkshire Police, any new updates before the new bail expiry date will be provided on their website.

Johnson died during a game with the Nottingham Panthers of the EIHL after a skate blade deeply cut his neck. Initial reports called Johnson’s death a freak accident.
Johnson played 13 NHL games with the Penguins between the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons. He scored four points including his one career goal in his home state of Minnesota against the Wild.
