The Pittsburgh Penguins have extended qualifying offers to several restricted free agents.

Penguins president and general manager Kyle Dubas spoke to the media on Friday and confirmed that the team has extended qualifying offers to Egor Chinakhov, Arturs Silovs, Ville Koivunen, Alexander Alexeyev, Joel Blomqvist, and Hendrix Lapierre.

Alexeyev might play overseas next season, but the Penguins still gave him a qualifying offer.

Chinakhov and Silovs are the bigger pressing needs after the seasons they just had. Chinakhov was fantastic with the Penguins, racking up 18 goals and 36 points in 43 games after he was traded by the Columbus Blue Jackets. He finished the full season with 21 goals and 42 points in 72 games.

Silovs had an up-and-down regular season before showing his big-game pedigree in the playoffs. He took over for Skinner halfway through the first-round series against the Philadelphia Flyers and was fantastic, posting a 1.52 goals-against average and a .939 save percentage.

The rest of the contracts for Blomqvist, Koivunen, Lapierre, and Alexeyev should be fairly straightforward.
