The Penguins have some trade targets to consider from the Flames this summer.
The Pittsburgh Penguins should be looking to add to their roster during the off-season after making the playoffs this year.
When looking at teams that are expected to be sellers this off-season, the Calgary Flames stand out. Because of this, let's look at three Flames who the Penguins should consider targeting.
Zach Whitecloud, D
Adding another right-shot defenseman should be one of the Penguins' objectives this off-season. A blueliner like Zach Whitecloud could make sense for them, as he is a steady shutdown defenseman who can play in the top four and kill penalties. In 78 games this season, the 6-foot-2 defenseman had two goals, 17 points, 124 hits, and 140 blocks.
Connor Zary, C/LW
Connor Zary would be an interesting young forward for the Penguins to bring in. The 24-year-old forward took a bit of a step back this season, posting 12 goals and 25 points in 74 games. However, he also had 27 points in 54 games during the 2024-25 season and a career-high 34 points in 63 games in 2023-24, so he has bounce-back potential. Perhaps getting a fresh start on the Penguins could help the 2020 first-round pick hit a new level.
Morgan Frost, C
If the Penguins want to add a center who provides solid secondary scoring, Morgan Frost would make sense as a trade target. The 27-year-old forward just had a strong year for Calgary, posting 22 goals and 43 points in 82 games. With numbers like these, he would be a nice pickup for Pittsburgh's middle six and power play.
