With the Penguins needing more secondary scoring, they should consider taking a flier on Oilers forward Jack Roslovic if he hits the free agent market.
The Pittsburgh Penguins should be looking to make some additions to their roster this summer after a successful 2025-26 season. One of their top needs is another skilled forward who would provide them with more secondary scoring.
When looking at this year's pending unrestricted free agents (UFAs), one player who could make a lot of sense for the Penguins to target if he hits the market is Edmonton Oilers forward Jack Roslovic.
If the Penguins signed Roslovic, they would be bringing in a solid top-nine forward who can play both center and on the wing. He would also give them more depth offensive production, which is a need for the Penguins. This will only be more of the case if Anthony Mantha ends up signing elsewhere in free agency.
Roslovic is coming off a solid 2025-26 season with the Oilers, which adds to his appeal. In 69 games this season with the Pacific Division club, he posted 21 goals and 36 points. This is after he had 22 goals and 39 points in 81 games for the Carolina Hurricanes during the 2024-25 season. With numbers like these, he would be a nice addition to the Penguins' forward if signed to a short-term deal.
Overall, if Roslovic ends up hitting the market, the Penguins would be wise to consider pursuing. While he would not be a major pickup, he would still have the potential to be a solid addition to a Penguins club that is looking to build off their strong year.
