Stuart Skinner's time with the Penguins is officially over.

Stuart Skinner's time with the Pittsburgh Penguins has officially come to an end.

According to TSN's Darren Dreger, the Winnipeg Jets have signed Skinner to a two-year contract. The former Penguins goalie will have a $3.75 million AAV on his new deal with Winnipeg.

The Penguins moving on from Skinner is not too surprising, as they have two young promising goalies in Arturs Silovs and Sergei Murashov. As a result, it makes sense that Skinner hit the market and has now found his new home with Winnipeg.

Skinner will now provide the Jets with another goaltender to work with. If Connor Hellebuyck does not end up getting traded, Skinner will be his backup. However, if the Jets move Hellebuyck, Skinner should be in the mix for their starting job.

Skinner was acquired by the Penguins from the Edmonton Oilers during this past season. In 27 games with the Penguins following the trade, Skinner posted a 12-9-5 record, a 2.99 goals-against average, and an .885 save percentage.
