The Penguins' decision to acquire this forward has been paying off.

Last season ahead of the trade deadline, the Pittsburgh Penguins acquired forward Connor Dewar and defenseman Connor Timmins from the Toronto Maple Leafs. While Timmins' time in Pittsburgh proved to be short, Dewar remains with the Penguins and has become a key part of their roster.

The Penguins' decision to acquire Dewar has been paying off, as the 26-year-old forward is in the middle of a breakout year with the Metropolitan Division club. In 68 games with the Penguins so far this campaign, he has set new career highs with 14 goals, 13 assists, 27 points, and 135 hits. With numbers like these, Dewar has not only been making an impact offensively but also with his physicality.

Dewar has simply been an excellent addition to the Penguins' bottom six and has undoubtedly played a role in Pittsburgh's significant turnaround this season because of it. It will now be interesting to see how he builds on his breakout year with the Penguins, but there is no question that they made the right call bringing him in last season.
