The Pittsburgh Penguins tend to play nationally televised games, as confirmed by the season opener airing on TNT on Oct. 9.

The Pittsburgh Penguins will begin their 2024-25 campaign against the New York Rangers on Oct. 9 at PPG Paints Arena.

On Tuesday afternoon, the NHL on TNT confirmed that it will feature two opening-night contests: the Penguins and Rangers, followed by the Vegas Golden Knights taking on the Colorado Avalanche.

As one of the premier hockey markets in the United States, and with first-ballot Hockey Hall of Famer Sidney Crosby entering his 20th season, there is always a lot of buzz surrounding the Penguins, which is why they constantly get bumped to national coverage.

Although the team's official broadcast schedule has yet to be released, Pittsburgh fans should expect to see Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Kris Letang, and Erik Karlsson featured in several nationally televised games as the Penguins begin their quest for their sixth Stanley Cup title in 2024-25.
