Former Pittsburgh Penguins prospect forward Adam Johnson was involved in a scary collision mid-game.

Defenseman Marcus Pettersson discusses the Pittsburgh Penguins bounce back victory over the Colorado Avalanche.

In a report coming out the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) in England, a former Pittsburgh Penguins prospect was involved in a horrific on-ice injury.

According to reports, ex-Penguins forward prospect Adam Johnson was involved in the incident and the game has been cut short.

Johnson signed with the Nottingham Panthers of the EIHL this past summer and was seven games into the season.

While the team has not stated Johnson was the player injured on the play, The Mirror has reported his involvement.

According to tweets from the Panthers, the game was stopped mid-game for an injury.

Players eventually returned to the locker rooms and fans were asked to leave the arena.

BBC Radio’s Peter Spencer reported that a player was hurt at center ice after a collision; he stated that screens were being put up around the player.

According to BBC, Johnson was taken to a local hospital; outlets have stated that he took a skate blade to the neck.

There have been no further updates on Johnson's condition.

Johnson played 13 games with the Penguins between 2018 and 2020; he scored a goal and three assists for four career points.
