The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled Colin White as they look for forward reinforcements.

Kris Letang believes the Pittsburgh Penguins are on an upward trajectory at the midpoint of the season.

PITTSBURGH – For the first time this season the Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Colin White from the American Hockey League. With multiple forwards down with injury, most recently Reilly Smith, the Penguins are in need of offensive reinforcements.

While White was called up from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, defenseman Ryan Shea was re-assigned.

White is in his first season with the Penguins organization after helping push the Florida Panthers all the way to the Stanley Cup Final last year. Prior to Florida, White spent parts of six seasons with the Ottawa Senators.

In 292 career games played, White has recorded 44 goals and 69 assists for 113 total points. As a member of the WBS Penguins, White has 21 games has scored five goals and five assists for 10 total points.

White has spent a fair bit of the 2023-24 season playing center with WBS but has the ability to play wing if needed.

It is not guaranteed White is making his Penguins debut, however, as forward Radim Zohorna is still on the NHL’s active roster and could slot in at wing over White.
