Pittsburgh Penguins fans won't let up on the Pittsburgh Steelers' offensive coordinator.

Defenseman Marcus Pettersson discusses how the Pittsburgh Penguins penalty kill can build off their 4-4 performance against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Over their 90 years in existence, the Pittsburgh Steelers have grown one of the most passionate fan bases in football; it just so happens many of their fans also root for the Pittsburgh Penguins.

When Steelers fans are unhappy, Penguins fans are likely just as unhappy, and that has been evident since puck dropped on the opening of the 2023-24 NHL season.

A lot of the disdain between the fan bases has been geared toward Steelers offensive coordinator, Matt Canada.

During the Penguins home opener at PPG Paints Arena, fans started a ‘Fire Canada’ chant.

That wasn’t the end of it, however, as during the Penguins second game of the season, in Washington D.C. no less, another chant broke out.

This time, the fans started the chant on the steps of the National Portrait Gallery.

‘Storming the Steps’ of the Gallery has been a tradition for Penguins fans after every victory over the Washington Capitals for a number of years now.

While the normal ‘Lets go Pens’ chants were present, there was a break for another thrashing of the football coach.

One fan even had a sign that read ‘Fire Canada.’

Steelers fans aren’t happy with Canada and that’s translating over to the Penguins’ fans.

Pittsburgh is hungry for any of their teams to find success again and they aren’t afraid to let people know about it.
