The Pittsburgh Penguins are in full swing and pushing their way up on power rankings lists.

What a difference a week can make for the Pittsburgh Penguins who are riding a four-game winning streak into crucial contests against divisional opponents.

With the momentum on their side, the Penguins have not only started to jump in the standings, but are taking big strides as one of the most formidable teams in the NHL.

Each week brings with it a flurry of power rankings for NHL teams, and this time around saw a big swing for the black and gold.

Entering the California trip, the Penguins had a record that would indicate they were one of the worst teams in the NHL at 3-6-0 in the bottom of the Metropolitan Division.

DailyFaceoff.com had the Penguins listed at 20th in the NHL on their power rankings list, but now on a four-game heater, they made a massive jump.

The most recent power rankings from Daily Faceoff pushed the Penguins all the way to 10th.

A few huge reasons for the jump is Tristan Jarry’s shutout streak that saw a slight pause for an eye injury, and the emergence of Erik Karlsson.

Jarry hasn’t allowed a goal since the Penguins 10-2 waxing of the San Jose Sharks, which was over a week ago.

The Penguins got a win with third string goalie Magnus Hellberg to cap off the road trip, but Jarry came back and picked up right where he left off.

As for Karlsson, he seems to have finally found his groove in Pittsburgh; in his last five games, he has recorded nine points, including a pair of goals in the win over the Buffalo Sabres.

With hugely important games on the horizon, the Penguins will need to trek forward with the same pace they brought home from California.
