Top Pittsburgh Penguins prospect Brayden Yager is on pace for a fantastic season in the WHL.

The Pittsburgh Penguins might not have a very popular prospect pipeline, but there is one player that every fan should be keeping an eye on.

After being taken 14^th overall by the Penguins in the most recent NHL draft, Brayden Yager has done nothing but impress ever since hearing his name called.

Yager spent some time with the big club during training camp and was solid in the opportunities he was given.

Ever since being sent back to his junior team, the Moose Jaw Warriors of the Western Hockey League, Yager has continued to produce at a great pace.

In 17 games with the Warriors, Yager has notched 11 goals and 13 assists for 24 total points; he may not be the team leader in those categories, but he’s pacing for outstanding numbers.

Yager is pacing for a season of 65 games with 42 goals and a total of 92 points.

It didn’t take long, but Yager has rocketed to the top of the Penguins prospect pool and is getting high recognition from outside outlets.

The Hockey News recently listed Yager among the top 100 players under the age of 21.

At only 18-years-old, Yager has an extremely bright future ahead of him and the Penguins are hopeful they can reap the benefits.

Yager may still be a few years out from the NHL, but he and Owen Pickering could very well carry the Penguins into the future.
