Penguins Lift Alex Nedeljkovic from IR, Will Start Against Golden Knights
After his stint on long-term injured reserve, the Pittsburgh Penguins have elevated goalie Alex Nedeljkovic back to the lineup.
To make space for Nedeljkovic, the Penguins have re-assigned goalie Magnus Hellberg back to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
Head coach Mike Sullivan also named Nedeljkovic the starting netminder against the Vegas Golden Knights.
This was the first day Nedeljkovic was eligible to return, and he is back right on schedule.
Nedeljkovic took a brief conditioning stint with the WBS Penguins and recorded a win in his one game and scored his second career AHL goal.
In his two starts so far this season, Nedeljkovic has a 1-1 record with a .914 save percentage and 3.01 goals against average.
Sullivan also confirmed that Vinnie Hinostroza will miss the contest against the Golden Knights with a lower-body injury.
Without Hinostroza, Jeff Carter will likely slot back into the Penguins lineup.
