Mark Pysyk follows an unsuccessful run with the Pittsburgh Penguins with a two-way contract.

If the Pittsburgh Penguins need another bottom-six option, Josh Bailey remains one of the top names on the free agent market.

After an unsuccessful stint with the Pittsburgh Penguins organization, Mark Pysyk has found work elsewhere in the NHL.

The former Penguins lineup hopeful has signed a full, two-way deal with the Calgary Flames.

Pysyk was also placed on waivers, but the two-way nature of his contract will make it easy for the Flames to promote or demote him.

The Penguins signed Pysyk to a professional tryout contract before the start of training camp and had a good chance at earning a full-time spot in the roster.

Not long after the start of the preseason, Pysyk was sidelined with a lower-body injury and missed the remainder of camp.

Pysyk was later assigned to the AHL’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, where he also signed a PTO.

After no points and a minus-3 in eight games, Pysyk was relieved of his AHL PTO.

The Flames look to give Pysyk another shot with an NHL organization.
