The Pittsburgh Penguins have an incredible streak against the Minnesota Wild.

PITTSBURGH-- The Pittsburgh Penguins kick off a brief two-game road trip with a stop against the Minnesota Wild. It's the first half of a back-to-back situation for the Penguins, but they look to keep their foot on the pedal coming out of the All-Star break.

Before the contest, the Wild will celebrate recent achievements by their goalie and all-time Penguins great Marc-Andre Fleury. His former Penguins teammates are as excited about the ceremony as the game.

Here is what to watch for when the Penguins take on the Wild.

    1. Jarry's Career-High Mark

The Penguins have one of the best goaltending tandems this year, and Tristan Jarry is holding up his end wonderfully. Despite a .500 record over 33 starts, Jarry has put up a save percentage of .916 and a 2.45 goals-against average. On top of that, he's already set a new career high in shutouts this season. With six shutouts this year, he's leading the entire NHL in that category.

The Penguins' organizational record for shutouts in a season is 10, held by the all-time great Fleury. The way Jarry is playing this season, he has a legitimate chance of tying or surpassing Fleury's mark.

    2. Youth Movement in Minny

Midway through a disappointing season, the Wild are on the outside of the playoff race in the Western Conference. Record excluded, the Wild have a few different reasons for optimism in the State of Hockey. Led by elite forward Kirill Kaprizov, the Wild are getting solid support from their young draft picks.

Rookie defender Brock Faber is probably the only player with a chance at challenging Connor Bedard for the Calder Trophy this season. He has 30 points in 50 games and is already counted on to play huge minutes. He's logged at least 24 minutes or more in each of the past five games.

Offensively, forwards Matthew Boldy and Marco Rossi provides a spark to a dull forward core. The pair of first-round picks have put up 16 and 13 goals, respectively, and are giving hope that the top-six are turning a new leaf in Minnesota.

    3. Running Wild on Minnesota

Going back to 2018, the Penguins have owned the Wild. Over 10 meetings in that time, and the Pens have earned points in every single one. The biggest reason for their success is the offensive dominance of their legendary center duo.

Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin are averaging nearly a point and a half per game when playing the Wild. With a 9-0-1 record in their head-to-head meetings, the Pens will try to make it points in 11 straight over their cross-conference foe.

The Penguins and Wild face off at the Excel Energy Center at 8:00 p.m.
