The Pittsburgh Penguins captain continues to set himself apart in franchise history.

With the puck dropped between the Pittsburgh Penguins and San Jose Sharks, Sidney Crosby has officially played in 1,200 games in his NHL career.

Crosby already holds the record for most games played in Penguins’ history, but he continues to set himself apart as one of the greatest of all time; this milestone only adds to his legacy.

At the age of 36, Crosby is still yet to show real signs of slowing down and has had a solid start to the 2023-24 season.

Through the first nine games of the year, Crosby has five goals and five assists for 10 points.

The career accomplishments for Crosby over 1,200 games are almost unmatched; 555 career goals and 957 assists give him a total of 1,512 points.

It’s very possible Crosby still has a few seasons left ahead of him and there’s no telling exactly how high he may climb on the all-time lists.

Aside from Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang are the only other two players to play in 1,000 games in a Penguins uniform.

Before those three took over as the games played leaders, franchise icon Mario Lemieux was the Penguins leader in games played with only 915.
