
The Pittsburgh Penguins broadcast team is slowly coming together ahead of the 2023-24 season.
When the puck drops on the 2023-24 season for the Pittsburgh Penguins, they’re will familiar voices, but in new places.
Not long after the Penguins announced Steve Mears would transition from television to radio, they released that Josh Getzoff would go from radio to TV.
Getzoff will be the official play-by-play voice for the newly created SportsNet Pittsburgh which is set to premiere on October 2.
During the 2020 season, Getzoff took over full-time duties as the Penguins play-by-play voice.
SportsNet Pittsburgh will keep Dan Potash around, but in a new role; in his new position, Potash will be a studio host.
Taking Potash’s place as rinkside reporter is new hire Hailey Hunter, daughter of former Penguins forward Tim Hrynewich.
Before joining SportsNet Pittsburgh, Hunter worked with NBC Sports’ Golf Channel and was a team reporter for the New York Islanders in 2021-22.
With puck drop of the new season just weeks away, the Penguins’ broadcast teams are coming together with radio and TV lineups almost completely set.
There are currently no hires made for Getzoff’s partner as color commentator after the departure of Bob Errey.
The Penguins state that further details and new hires will be announced at a later date.
SportsNet Pittsburgh is set to begin on October 2 when the Penguins take on the Ottawa Senators in a preseason match in Nova Scotia, Canada.
