The Pittsburgh Penguins had a special guest join them for warmups.
PITTSBURGH – Just when you thought the celebration for Jaromir Jagr was over, the Pittsburgh Penguins had one more surprise up their sleeve. The Penguins hit the ice for warmups ahead of their match against the Los Angeles Kings with a special guest. Jagr hit the ice with the Penguins in full uniform and participated in warmups.
Jagr followed Kris Letang, Sidney Crosby, and Evgeni Malkin down the runway onto the ice with the rest of the Penguins.
Everyone on the Penguins also wore special jerseys with Jagr’s name, No. 68, and a special patch commemorating the event. Some of the Penguins also wore mullet wigs to go with Jagr’s iconic look from his younger days.
This is the second time this weekend that Jagr has taken the ice with the Penguins as he was also a participant at practice in Cranberry.
Before the end of warmups, Jarg and the Penguins got together for one big team photo. Jagr then took one last lap around the ice before heading to the locker room.
Despite fans' wishes and players not turning the idea down, Jagr was not listed in the Penguins starting lineup.
