The Pittsburgh Penguins continue to send Alex Nylander across the state on emergency assignments.

Pittsburgh Penguins center Nick Bonino discusses his recovery from a lacerated kidney and what his next steps may be after joining the team at practice.

PITTSBURGH - Welcome back to the Pittsburgh Penguins, yet another time, to Alex Nylander.

The Penguins have recalled Nylander on an emergency basis for the third time in the span of just over a week.

Nylander has spent a majority of his season in the AHL where he has recorded 50 points with a clean 25 goals and 25 assists.

With the NHL-level Penguins, Nylander has played in seven games and recorded a goal and an assists for two points.

Since this recall is again on an emergency basis, the Penguins are likely going to be without a regular forward in the lineup.

Nylander skated for Drew O’Connor in his last recall assignment and is likely the case again.

O’Connor skated in a non-contact jersey in the Penguins most recent practice.

Nick Bonino also skated with the team in a full-contact capacity, but will likely not be lifted from long-term injured reserve.
