Matt Murray hasn't been the same goalie since leaving the Pittsburgh Penguins, but he can still make outstanding saves.

While the Pittsburgh Penguins were getting smacked around by the Florida Panthers, one of their former goalies made a case for save of the year.

Matt Murray won a pair of Stanley Cups with the Penguins and had the momentum to become one of the best goalies in the NHL, but things never panned out.

After a rough last few seasons, Murray landed with the Toronto Maple Leafs and is hoping to revitalize his career.

After dealing with a couple of injuries already this season, Murray returned to the Leafs net for the first time since mid-January.

The overall game didn’t go great for Murray, giving up four goals on 24 shots, but before the wheels fell off, he made a huge save to get back into the swing of things.

Christian Wolanin and Conor Garland skated in alone on Murray, but it was Murray who came up big.

Wolanin and Garland made a few passes to get Murray out of position, but he was able to get a right pad on Wolanin’s shot.

The Canucks ended up getting the last laugh with a 4-1 win, including a short handed goal with a very similar set up.

Despite battling injuries, Murray has appeared in 20 games this year with a 11-6-2 record and is fighting with Ilya Samsonov for the starting job.
