The Pittsburgh Penguins had one of the most popular faces at the NHL Awards and he wasn't even a player.
Whenever Pittsburgh Penguins Kris Letang is involved in a big time NHL event, you can plan on his son Alex arriving and stealing the show.
The 2023 NHL Awards was no different; Letang represented the Penguins at the show as a nominee and eventual winner of the Bill Masterton Trophy, but Alex made a mark on the red carpet.
Prior to the start of the show, 10-year-old Alex not only walked the red carpet with his family, he took questions from the media with his father and even signed an autograph for a fan.
Alex signed his name with the No. 11, and he states is because it’s the month of his birthday and he is a fan of Jonathan Huberdeau who wore 11 with the Florida Panthers.
Kris said that Alex watches every NHL game he can and loves being around all of the league’s superstars in on place.
According to Kris, having Alex around is the highlight of his night, even if Alex possibly asked Connor McDavid for an autograph in the bathroom.
Having his whole family around was special for Letang, he says his Masterton Trophy wouldn’t have happened without them.
