
Kyle Dubas continues to add to his staff in the Pittsburgh Penguins front office.
Ahead of one of the busiest weeks for NHL front offices, Pittsburgh Penguins president Kyle Dubas has added to his staff.
The Penguins announced the Vukie Mpofu has been named the director of hockey operations and legal affairs.
Mpofu’s responsibilities will include advising the entire hockey operations department with contract negotiations, ensuring there is compliance with the agree upon collective bargaining agreement and the salary cap.
Mpofu will also help lead the Penguins’ hockey research and development department while reporting directly to Dubas.
Mpofu is 27-years-old and spent the previous two seasons as the manager of hockey operations and legal affairs with the Los Angeles Kings.
Prior to joining LA, Mpofu was a legal affairs intern with the Vegas Golden Knights.

Vukie has accrued great experience the last several seasons with Vegas and Los Angeles after graduating from Law School at UCLA,” said Dubas. “In the process of completing this hire, Vukie came highly recommended from everyone he has interacted with in the game and he was most impressive throughout. He has great potential and we look forward to welcoming him to Pittsburgh.”
Before joining NHL front offices, Mpofu played a pair of season in the WHL with the Red Deer Rebels.
