Dmitry Kulikov will be absent from the Pittsburgh Penguins lineup with a lower-body injury.
PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Penguins are going to be without another one of their new arrivals on a week-to-week basis.
Defenseman Dmitry Kulikov exited early in the Penguins victory over the New York Rangers and head coach Mike Sullivan didn’t have much information other than it was a lower-body injury.
Following an evaluation and a team off day, Sullivan stated that Kulikov will be out week-to-week with a lower-body injury.
With Kulikov unble to go, it looks like P.O. Joseph will be back in the lineup after being scratched for the previous three matches.
In four games since arriving in Pittsburgh, Kulikov played most of his time with Jan Rutta on the third defensive pairing and only recorded an assist in that time.
Kulikov was acquired by the Penguins in exchange for a draft pick and the struggling Brock McGinn.
The Penguins made three acquisitions at the trade deadline, and now two of them are out on a week-to-week basis.
Kulikov joins Nick Bonino who is missing time with a lacerated kidney.
