The Pittsburgh Penguins were never expected to re-sign Dmitry Kulikov who was acquired at the trade deadline.
When the Pittsburgh Penguins traded for Dmitry Kulikov at the deadline, he it wasn’t expected he would remain with the team into the 2023-24 season.
On the first day of free agency, Kulikov was one of the many faces that departed the Penguins’ organization.
Kulikov signed a one-year contract worth $1 million to play with the Florida Panthers.
This will be Kulikov’s second stint with the Panthers after they drafted him 14th overall in the 2009 NHL Draft.
Kulikov spent the first 460 games of his NHL career with the Panthers where he recorded 138 total points.
In just six games with the Penguins, Kulikov recorded a single assist.
The Panthers also just signed former Penguins forward Evan Rodrigues to a four-year contract worth $3 million annually.
