The Pittsburgh Penguins add another important piece to their front office staff.
The Pittsburgh Penguins front office finds another new name as the regime change continues.
It was announced by president and general manager Kyle Dubas that the Penguins have hired Marty Lauzon as the director of high performance.
Lauzon will oversee the hockey operations’ strength and conditioning, nutrition, mental fitness, injury prevention, and rehabilitation and will work closely with head physician Dr. Dharmesh Vyas.
This role will be Lauzon’s first in the NHL after spending the previous 25 years in the NCAA, NFL, and NBA.
Lauzon started his career as UCLA’s director of rehabilitation for their athletics programs in 1997.
From 1999 to 2021, Lauzon held roles with the Cleveland Browns and Atlanta Falcons in their sports medicine departments.
Lauzon spent the last two years with the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks as their director of athletic performance and sports medicine.
