Former Pittsburgh Penguins forward Kasperi Kapanen is suspected of aggravated drunk driving in Finland.
UPDATE: The St. Louis Blues have acknowledged the incident and statements have been made by general manager Doug Armstrong and Kasperi Kapanen.

According to YLE in Finland, a case has been opened against former Pittsburgh Penguins forward Kasperi Kapanen for suspected aggravated drunk driving.
Currently a member of the St. Louis Blues, Kapanen played his last game with the Penguins just before the 2023 trade deadline.
The aggravated drunk driving case was brought to a district court in Finland on August 23, and hearing as scheduled for February of 2024.
Full details of the incident have not yet been released, and according to YLE, Kapanen’s agent, Marus Lehto, has not made a comment.
In Finland, drunk driving is considered aggravated if a person’s blood alcohol concentration is at or over a certain limit.
Drivers can also be found guilty of aggravated drunk driving if their driving is obviously being effected.
Kapanen has played in 387 career games and recorded a total of 186 points.
He is a former first round draft pick of the Penguins from 2014 and has represented Team Finland on the international stage on multiple occasions.
