The Pittsburgh Penguins couldn't escape an odds decrease, even on Easter Sunday.
None of the three teams involved in the Eastern Conference wild card race played a game on Easter Sunday, but there were still some adjustments to the Pittsburgh Penguins numbers.
Nothing major, but the Penguins have two games remaining in the regular season with no room for error.
Moneypuck.com has been updating and tabulating numbers for everyone’s chance at the postseason, and it’s shown in how close the race is.
According to Money Puck, the Penguins hold a 42.2% chance of reaching the postseason; a simple .7% drop from 24 hours prior.
Despite there not being a game between the three teams in the race, the New York Islanders leapfrogged the Florida Panthers.
The Islanders jumped to a 79.2% shot while the Panthers slid to 78.3%.
It’s hard to draw any conclusions when no one takes to the ice, but today is a different story.
The Penguins don’t have a game on the schedule, but fans should still be watching hockey as the Islanders and Panthers both do battle.
The Islanders are traveling to take on the Washington Capitals, while the Panthers are playing host to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
A loss from either team will open the door for the Penguins to strike and regain standing in the race.
For their final two games, the Penguins take on the Chicago Blackhawks and Columbus Blue Jackets.
