Sidney Crosby is back home as the Pittsburgh Penguins take in a skate in Cole Harbour.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are preparing for their next preseason game like they would any other game, only this time it’s in a non-traditional area.

Ahead of their exhibition matchup against the Ottawa Senators, the Penguins are getting a skate in where their captain grew up.

With the game taking place in Nova Scotia, it was a perfect opportunity for Sidney Crosby to return to his home town of Cole Harbour.

After spending a team bonding day around Halifax, Crosby and the Penguins took to the ice at Cole Harbour place for their practice.

Lines began forming in the early hours with many hoping to catch a glimpse of Crosby at work.

“It’ll be fun,” Crosby said before departing Pittsburgh. “To have everyone play at home and experience this. I’m going to try and enjoy it.”

Plenty of young fans were on hand and couldn’t help but cheer as he took to the ice in his hometown.

Before even getting to the ice, one lucky kid in the stands got a chance to tape Crosby’s stick.

Players were out signing autographs and taking in the scene before getting to work ahead of their next preseason matchup.
