The captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins knows just how to create memories for so many.
It wasn’t supposed to be anything special; just a regular run of the mill preseason game against the Pittsburgh Penguins and Buffalo Sabres.
For most viewers, that’s exactly what it was; but for one young Penguins fan it was a night he may never forget.
After a fairly dull first period of hockey, captain Sidney Crosby found himself with a game puck.
Rather than toss it back on to the rink for a member of the ice crew to pick up, Crosby threw it towards the family sitting above the Penguins tunnel.
The father caught it and immediately handed it to his young son who couldn’t contain his excitement.
From the jumping to the kicking to the frozen look of shock, it was obvious Crosby just made that kid’s night.
The Penguins capped off the night with a 3-1 win over the Sabres on the back of a pair of goals from Drew O’Connor.
While the Penguins may have gotten an exhibition win, the kid receiving a puck from one of the greatest of all time was the real winner of the night.
