The Pittsburgh Penguins' captain has won this particular category for four straight seasons.
The annual NHLPA Player Poll has been released, and while the Pittsburgh Penguins weren’t a prominent feature, but Sidney Crosby found himself atop a certain category.
The Penguins’ captain was voted by his peers as the most complete player in the entire NHL by a 30.1% vote.
Crosby led the category ahead of players like Patrice Bergeron (18.8%), Aleksander Barkov (17.1%), Connor McDavid (11%), and close friend Nathan MacKinnon (4.7%).
According to the NHLPA, this is the fourth consecutive year Crosby has taken the top spot as the league’s most complete player.
Crosby received 178 votes for his play not only as an elite level playmaker and goal scorer, but also his outstanding ability to play defense and be a threat in any area of the ice.

McDavid took that category with a 59.3% vote to Crosby’s 11%.
Former Penguins Marc-Andre Fleury and Phil Kessel were voted first and second as the best guy in the locker room.
Fleury received 3.8% of the vote and Kessel fetched 2.7%; the NHLPA says that 181 different players received a vote for this category.
The NHLPA says that 626 players voted on 14 hockey-related questions.
