The tributes have continued to pour in for former Pittsburgh Penguins forward Adam Johnson.

It was a rough weekend in the hockey world as an incident during an EIHL game took the life of former Pittsburgh Penguins forward Adam Johnson.

The days that followed say many from around the hockey world pay their respects and thoughts on the former Penguins forward.

Many social media messages and words were said on Johnson, but many teams around the world still had games to play.

It was at these games that saw a number of teams honor the life of Johnson in their own way.

One of the NHL’s premier events in Canada, the Heritage Classic took place between the Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers.

Before the puck dropped outdoors at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton, there was a moment of silence for Johnson.

One of Johnson’s former teams, the Ontario Reign of the AHL, made a different kind of gesture to honor his life.

Following their 5-3 win over the Abbotsford Canucks, during the announcing of the game’s three stars, they named Johnson the night’s first star.

Former teammates of Johnson’s with the Reign brought out a No. 49 jersey and set it at center ice.

Across the country, still in the AHL, prior to the start of the contest between the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Hershey Bears, there was a moment of silence and the two teams stood together at center ice.

Johnson spent most of his professional playing career with the WBS Penguins.

Arenas where Johnson played hockey have had memorials set up since the announcement of his passing.

Some of his teammates with the Nottingham Panthers of the EIHL spoke outside of the National Ice Centre saying everyone is grieving but will make it through together.

The Penguins have yet to play a game since Johnson’s passing, but there is sure to be at least a moment of silence from the only team he played NHL hockey with.
