The Pittsburgh Penguins have pulled into a tie for the final Wild Card position.

One month ago, the Pittsburgh Penguins sat in the bottom three of the NHL's Eastern Conference and were in the midst of a four-game losing streak. Kyle Dubas held a surprise press conference and publicly afforded the team until the All-Star Break to put their season back on track.

The Penguins responded with a 9-3-1 record and are tied with three teams for the final wild card spot in the Eastern Conference. They also sit just five points back of the Carolina Hurricanes for second place in the Metropolitan division with a game in hand and a massive matchup coming up on the schedule.

This turnaround was powered by impressive performances from the Penguins power play. The power play has been maligned for most of this season, but something started to click in the past month. A four-game goal streak for the power play caps off a month in which they ranked 10th in the NHL on the man advantage (21.8%).
