The Nashville Predators tied a franchise record 15-game points streak with an 8-2 win over the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night.
Like the last game, the Sharks played the first few minutes on their toes. They forced action but ultimately came up short. They got goals from Mikael Granlund and Mario Ferraro. Magnus Chrona made 32 saves.
Roman Josi had a goal and two assists to lead the way for Nashville. The Predators also got goals from Jason Zucker, Michael McCarron (2), Luke Evangelista, Mark Jankowski, Filip Forsberg, and Tommy Novak. Juuse Saros wasn't overly busy, making 18 saves.
The five-game road trip looked like it took a toll on the Sharks as fatigue crept into their game. There were multiple shifts where the Sharks were hemmed in their zone, especially in the second period. Henry Thrun and Jan Rutta had a 3:30 and 3:37 shift at one point.
Klim Kostin scored his fifth point in six games since joining Team Teal, surpassing his point total in 33 games with the Detroit Red Wings.
Roman Josi scores his 18th goal of the season with a massive slap-shot from the point.
A great breakout to Klim Kostin turns into a snipe by Mikael Granlund for his 10th goal of the season. Kostin is now up to five points in six games with San Jose.
Mario Ferraro gets his 2nd goal of the season with a perfect shot in the high slot. Thomas Bordeleau won a board battle and bumped the puck back to the point.
Jason Zucker gets his 2nd goal with the Predators and 11th of the season after the puck got through Chrona's legs.
Michael McCarron scores his 10th goal of the season to give the Predators the 3-2 lead.
Luke Evangelista scores his 15th goal of the season to extend the Predators lead to two.
McCarron scores his second of the game and 11th of the season to make it 5-2.
Mark Jankowski make it 6-2 with his 4th goal of the season.
Filip Forsberg scores his 36th goal of the season 30 seconds later.
Tommy Novak makes it 8-2.
