We’re now less than two months away from the San Jose Sharks hosting the Vegas Golden Knights to kick off the season. In just 60 days, they’ll take the ice at the SAP Center and get things underway.

There have been two players in Sharks history that have worn the number 60, but there isn’t much history surrounding it.

Jason Demers wore the number for a couple of seasons early in his career, but most likely remember him for his time wearing the number five for the Sharks during the latter half of his stint in the Bay Area.

Most recently, the number 60 was worn by forward Rourke Chartier, who played a total of 13 games for the Sharks during the 2018-19 season. He’d leave the organization following that season, and after some time in the American Hockey League, he’d find his way back to the NHL during the 2022-23 season with the Ottawa Senators.

After two seasons splitting time between the Senators and their AHL affiliate, the Belleville Senators, he jumped over to the Russian Kontinental Hockey League for the 2024-25 season.

With just 60 days remaining until the Sharks start their season, we’re rapidly approaching the 2025-26 season.
