We’re just 70 days away from the San Jose Sharks kicking off their season against the Vegas Golden Knights.

The number 70 has only been worn once in franchise history. Alexander True was the only player to wear it, doing so during the 2019 to 2021 seasons.

True, a native of Denmark, spent parts of two seasons with the Sharks but never quite lived up to the potential some once saw in him. He appeared in just 19 games with the team, recording five assists and no goals.

After his time in San Jose, he was selected by the Seattle Kraken in the expansion draft. Even that stint was short-lived. He appeared in only eight games for Seattle and didn’t register a point. Since then, he’s spent time in the AHL and, in 2024-25, played for Modo in the Swedish Elite League.

With each passing day, the hype for the 2025-26 NHL season keeps growing. The Sharks made some important moves to improve their roster. Now, we’re just 70 days away from seeing them live and in action.

Maybe this is the season things turn around for the Sharks. They’ve got a ton of young talent. And who knows, maybe we’ll see someone new wear number 70.
