San Jose Sharks forward Carl Grundstrom left the game in the first period with an injury against the Calgary Flames.

Carl Grundstrom played 1:34 before leaving the San Jose Sharks game against the Calgary Flames on Saturday.
Grundstrom was hit hard by Flames defenseman Brayden Pachal after receiving a pass in the neutral zone. Nico Sturm stood up for his teammate and fought Pachal immediately after.
It is unclear what Grundstrom's injury is, but Pachal's hit was clean, and San Jose ended up shorthanded, as Sturm was also penalized for cross-checking.
Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky will likely provide an update after the game. Grundstrom has one goal and four assists in 29 games this season.
